Tell us about yourself.

I am a Marketing and Communications Manager with experience in the healthcare and education sectors. After an incredible start to my career for organizations including the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada and Seneca College, I’m pleased to be starting a new opportunity this week as a Digital Content Marketing Manager at Dignity Health Global Education.

What do you consider as your biggest achievement?

Building a career that I’m extremely passionate about. It’s so critical to love what you do because you dedicate so many hours of your life to work. For me, my passion for marketing serves as a catalyst in producing genuine curiosity and excitement in my day-to-day work.

What advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?

1) Hard work pays off.

2) Celebrate your victories! This is something I’m admittedly still working on to this day. It’s always so easy to overlook your wins and rapidly move onto the next goal. Take a moment to reward yourself when you achieve your goals and meet the targets you’ve set out for yourself.

How do you stay productive and be your best self at work?

Waking up early and sticking to a healthy morning routine always helps me stay productive at work. By the time I begin my workday, I feel accomplished, rejuvenated, and ready to take on the day.

As a Marketing and Communications Manager, I also find it helpful to create a list of creative campaign ideas and projects I’m looking to execute in the future. This helps fuel idea generation and allows me to infuse creativity into everything I do.

What’s your top mental health tip for when the going gets tough?

Take a step back and look at the bigger picture. In the marketing and communications world, it’s so easy to be inundated with overlapping priorities or caught up in minute details during campaign execution. That’s why It’s critical to pause, re-examine the main intent of the project, and prioritize before diving back in. Creating daily to-do lists can help break down larger projects into achievable steps.

I’m also fortunate to live along the waterfront, so I’ve found going for walks by the water with my partner has been the best thing to alleviate stress. Swimming, yoga, reading, hiking, and listening to podcasts are also amazing ways to relieve stress or tension.

What are your top health hacks?

  • Meal prepping is key!
  • Prioritize sleeping early. Your body will thank you later.
  • Block off time in your calendar for self-care.
  • Be consistent with working out.

What’s your favorite fun activity?

I am an avid travel enthusiast! There is nothing like meeting people from across the globe, being exposed to new ideas and cultures, and discovering yourself in another country. I strive to visit a couple of new countries every year (pre-pandemic). I’m looking forward to the day the world opens up again and I can continue to explore the rest of the world.

My partner and I also love going on adventures and trying new things. Whether we’re trying a new hike, a new restaurant, or a new activity, there’s never a dull moment, and I cherish every weekend we spend together.

Who are your female role models and why?

My mom, who taught me to be fearless and persistent in the pursuit of my dreams. She is the hardest working person I know, and I strive to follow in her footsteps.

I’ve also been incredibly blessed to have three amazing female bosses in my career so far, who have all been wonderful role models to me. Their compassion, enthusiasm, and dedication to mentorship have shaped who I am as a professional today. I’m so thankful for that.
