Tell us about yourself.

Since November 2020 I work as a VP of Strategy for the T1 Agency, where I develop and oversee the positioning and strategy for all existing and new ventures within the group. I love the combination of the buzzing Toronto city life, with outdoor adventures within reach. In my spare time, I like to spend time outdoors and be active from canoe trips, to snowboarding, travelling and hopefully soon go back to enjoying all the nice boutique shops, restaurants and patio’s Toronto has to offer.

What do you consider as your biggest achievement?

Professionally I would say launching a brand new and disruptive insurance company in Canada, with an amazing team of people. But maybe more importantly is the ability to enjoy life to its fullest, by following opportunities that challenge me to be the best version of myself! Both in personal as well as in work life.

What advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?

There are no right or wrong decisions, just trust yourself and life to find your way.

How do you stay productive and be your best self at work?

I’m able to be my best self at work, by finding like-minded people around me who are willing to challenge each other to really make a difference. In addition, I’ve learned to recognize some of my own behaviour as flags for a lack of energy, or frustration. What helps me at those moments, is to find those people and talk through it… or go for a run, spend some time outdoors, free my mind and regain access to new ideas, solutions and reality.

What’s your top mental health tip for when the going gets tough?

Remind yourself that you are exactly where you need to be, and the worst thing about failing is that you’ll learn and grow.

What are your top health hacks?

Don’t force it, find your habits that combine joy and health. Find ways to stay active, that you really like and healthy foods that you truly enjoy. As to sleep… I wouldn’t know how not to, as my whole life I’ve been able to sleep anywhere, in cars, on trains, on planes…

How do you ensure your personal and/or family’s financial wellness?

By not making it a goal in itself, ensuring independence and freedom in the choices I make. And finding work that you simply love doing, and if that changes at some point… choose to do something different.

What’s your favorite fun activity?

Exploring new places, in active ways!
